It’s Time to Sing the Spider-man Theme Song

Every time I hear the Original Spider-Man Theme Song written by Paul Francis Webster it takes me back to my childhood. I am not that old to have watched the original TV series which aired in the year 1967. Although, I did watched the show as a kid in the 1980’s when they aired the reruns on TV.

When I was a kid they used to play the 1967 Spider-Man television series; I used to watch it every morning before heading out to school. The Spider-Man theme song is etched in my mind. I may not remember all the words but the tune, and some of the words has always stuck out to me. When I saw it in the Spider-man movie (2002) I smiled, I’m sure many who remembered the show did as well.

Spider-Man has always been one of my favorite Marvel Comic characters. Maybe it was because many of us can relate to Peter Parker, and all his problems (minus the super powers). Even as Spider-Man, Peter Parker had a love-hate relationship with the public. Although, mistreated Spider-man  was still very selfless in helping people. As the song states, “Wealth and fame? He’s ignored. Action is his reward.”

So, let’s bring back some nice memories, and sing the following song.

Spider-Man Theme Song by Paul Francis Webster

Spider-Man. Spider-Man,

Does whatever a spider can.

Spins a web, any size.

Catches thieves-just like flies.

Look out! Here comes the Spider-Man!

Is he strong? Listen bud.

He’s got radioactive blood.

Can he swing, from a thread?

Take a look overhead.

Hey, there! There goes the Spider-Man!

In the chill of night, at the scene of a crime,

Like a streak of light, he arrives just in time!

Spider-Man. Spider-Man.

Wealth and fame? He’s ignored.

Action is his reward.

To him, life is a great big bang-up.

Where there’s a hang-up,

You’ll find the Spider-Man!
